From Californian metalcore to melodic, progressive hard rock — a band that never stops mutating.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Avenged Sevenfold's world.
Avenged Sevenfold (A7X) left the underground scene of Huntington Beach to become one of the most ambitious American metal bands of its generation.
Founded in 1999, the band made its name with "City of Evil" (2005) and then the self-titled 2007 album, moving towards a melodic hard rock with elaborate solos and broad structures.
Despite the death of drummer The Rev in 2009, A7X carried on and in 2023 released "Life Is But a Dream…", a conceptual and unsettling record that divides opinion but confirms its taste for risk.
On stage, the band cares about theatricality — sets, lighting — in the service of a repertoire that runs from crowd-pleasing hits ("Bat Country", "Hail to the King") to ten-minute tracks.
