Fred again..
Voice notes and memories of friends, turned into euphoric house.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Fred again..'s world.
Fred again.. turns voice notes and memories into the raw material of an intimate kind of electronic music, played entirely live.
Born in London in 1993, Fred Gibson was spotted as a teenager by Brian Eno, then spent years working in the background writing and producing for others — Stormzy, Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX — until he was named Producer of the Year at the 2020 BRIT Awards.
His solo project began in 2021 with the Actual Life trilogy: tracks built from voice notes, snatches of conversation and videos picked up on social media, stitched together into emotionally charged house and UK garage.
A Boiler Room set that went viral in 2022, a spot at Coachella 2023 alongside Skrillex and Four Tet, the hit "Rumble" with Skrillex and Flowdan, and surprise shows announced only hours ahead: in two years he became one of the most sought-after names on the scene.
On stage he stands behind a rack of pads and samplers, rebuilding his tracks live and filming the crowd — a way of keeping, even at a festival, the closeness of his early small-club days.
