The soul voice behind "Love Me Again", now a pillar of 2010s British pop.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape John Newman's world.
Revealed by "Love Me Again", John Newman brought his soul voice to British pop of the 2010s.
Born in 1990 in Settle, Yorkshire, John Newman got noticed as a featured vocalist on Rudimental's "Feel the Love", a UK number one in late 2012.
His own single "Love Me Again", carried by a soul voice recognisable from a mile away, in turn reached the top of the UK charts in 2013 and made him known in more than twenty countries.
His collaboration with Calvin Harris on "Blame" (2014) confirmed his status as a go-to feature for the electro-pop scene, while he pursued a solo career true to his soul and Northern soul roots.
On stage, he bets on a demanding vocal performance, backed by a full live band rather than a simple backing track, true to the soul heritage that built his reputation.
