The Mexican duo who proved flamenco guitar can make a whole festival headbang.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Rodrigo y Gabriela's world.
Rodrigo y Gabriela turn two acoustic guitars into a wall of sound between flamenco, rock and metal, without a single sung word.
Formed in Mexico City in 2000 by Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero, former members of a thrash metal band, the duo settled in Dublin where they made their name playing in the street.
Their unique mix of rhythmic flamenco, rock and metal influences, entirely instrumental, earned them rare worldwide success for an acoustic guitar duo.
Still touring internationally, they remain a safe bet at general-audience festivals, where their stage energy surprises a crowd that isn't expecting them.
