Classic American rock reinvented with synthetic pads and endless guitars.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape The War on Drugs's world.
The War on Drugs extends the legacy of classic American rock in stretched-out tracks, carried by synths as much as by guitar.
Formed in Philadelphia in 2005 around songwriter Adam Granduciel, the band draws on the legacy of Dylan, Springsteen and Tom Petty, which it covers in synthetic textures and hypnotic guitars.
"Lost in the Dream" (2014) established their singular sound with critics and an ever-wider audience.
"A Deeper Understanding" (2017) won them the Grammy for Best Rock Album, confirming their status as a reference of contemporary American rock.
