Kieran Hebden, from the folktronica of his early days to today's most in-demand club sets.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Four Tet's world.
Four Tet is one of the most influential electronic producers, able to move from the intimate record to the club set.
Kieran Hebden, born in 1977 in London, launched Four Tet in 1998 to move away from the post-rock band Fridge, of which he was a member: his first records blend samples, acoustic guitars and electronic rhythms, which the press dubbed "folktronica".
Rounds (2003) and then There Is Love in You (2010) established a highly recognisable style, between music-box melodies, soft drums and gentle house, which made him a reference of the British electronic scene.
He collaborates widely — Burial, Thom Yorke, Floating Points, Skrillex, Fred again.. — and his trio with Skrillex and Fred again.. at Coachella 2023 marked a whole generation of fans.
His sets, between house, garage and ambient, make him one of the most in-demand DJs at international festivals, including for long "all-day takeover" evenings.
