The world-reference indie/pop festival, at Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, in early June. Three days by the sea, ~290,000 festival-goers, a lineup known for its precision and diversity. Launched in 2001. Next edition June 3 to 5, 2027, for a 25th anniversary edition.
Primavera Sound was born in 2001 in Barcelona, with the ambition to offer a lineup both sharp and generous — indie, pop, rock, electronic, with a real taste for artists who matter without always being the most mainstream. Since 2005, it has been held at Parc del Fòrum, a concrete seafront esplanade, an industrial setting that's become iconic to the festival. Three days in early June, ~90,000 people a day, a lineup that's a benchmark in music press around the world. Its success has spawned sister editions in São Paulo, Buenos Aires and Porto.
Primavera Sound has a reputation as a connoisseur's festival: the lineup blends international headliners and emerging artists with particular care, and the crowd comes as much for discovery as for the big names. Several stages are spread across the Fòrum esplanade, between the sea and industrial chimneys.
The site is urban with no camping: you stay in Barcelona and reach Parc del Fòrum by metro. In early June, the city is already warm and sunny — but the festival also lends itself to enjoying the beach right next door before the evening concerts.
