I Hate Models defined a hard but melancholic techno sound, highly influential on the European rave scene.
Guillaume Labadie broke through in the late 2010s with a fast techno loaded with reverb and cold melodies inherited from new wave and trance. His label Disco Inferno and his marathon sets make him a central figure of the new rave wave. In his sets he strings together hard techno, trance and breakbeat in almost constant tension.
