The band that brought nu metal into the charts, and keeps electrifying festival stages.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Limp Bizkit's world.
Led by Fred Durst, Limp Bizkit remains one of the most rowdy and most indestructible bands of nu metal.
Formed in 1994 in Jacksonville by Fred Durst and Sam Rivers, then joined by John Otto on drums, Wes Borland on guitar and DJ Lethal (ex-House of Pain) on turntables, Limp Bizkit immediately established a singular mix of metal riffs, rap and scratches.
The breakthrough came with Significant Other (1999) and then Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000): the band settled at the top of the American charts and became one of the spearheads of mainstream nu metal, carried by pit anthems like "Break Stuff" and "Rollin'".
Despite lineup changes, breaks and a controversial reputation, the band has never really left the festival stages, carried by a fan base that stayed loyal and a notable return to the studio in recent years.
On stage, Fred Durst still harangues the crowd with his cap screwed on his head while Wes Borland changes costume on every date — a show that remains, more than thirty years later, one of the most chaotic on the festival circuit.
