The Welsh band with political rock and a history marked by the disappearance of Richey Edwards.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Manic Street Preachers's world.
Manic Street Preachers carried an engaged alternative rock to the top of the British charts, despite a history marked by tragedy.
Formed in 1986 in Blackwood, Wales, the band established itself in the 1990s as one of the most political voices in British rock.
Their history is marked by the 1995 disappearance of guitarist and lyricist Richey Edwards, who was never found, before the band carried on as a trio.
"If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next" (1998) and "The Masses Against the Classes" (the first British number one of the 21st century) remain their most memorable tracks.
