The Canadian indie rock band that became cult years after the release of its biggest hit.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Mother Mother's world.
Mother Mother builds a theatrical, multi-voiced indie rock, brought to late and massive success by streaming.
Formed in Vancouver in 2005 around Ryan Guldemond, his sister Molly Guldemond and Jasmin Parkin, the band immediately stood out with its three-voice vocal harmonies and its sense of pop theatre.
"Hayloft", released in 2008 on their second album, took more than a decade to become a phenomenon: carried by social media and streaming, the track exploded long after its release and remains their biggest hit today.
Since then, the band has strung together albums ("Eureka", "No Culture", "Grief Chapter") without losing this particular identity, which today makes it one of the most-streamed Canadian indie bands.
