An Ohio duo mixing rap, rock, reggae and pop in a narrative universe of their own.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Twenty One Pilots's world.
Twenty One Pilots is Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, two musicians who refuse to pick a genre and build, album after album, a mythology.
Formed in Columbus in 2009, the band broke through in 2015 with "Blurryface" and its singles "Stressed Out" and "Ride" — a mix of sung rap, ukulele, synths and live drums that sounds like nothing else.
The following albums ("Trench", "Scaled and Icy", "Clancy") extend a dystopian story that fans dissect, with its colour codes and characters. The band won a Grammy Award for "Stressed Out".
On stage, the duo makes up for its small lineup with spectacular staging — masks, platforms in the crowd, Josh Dun playing drums while carried by the audience.
