Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Steve Aoki's world.
Steve Aoki is one of the most prolific and most visible DJs on the electro scene — founder of the label Dim Mak, he signed Bloc Party and The Bloody Beetroots before breaking through himself.
The son of the founder of the Benihana chain, Steve Aoki launched Dim Mak Records in 1996 and spent years in indie/electro-rock before becoming an EDM star at the turn of the 2010s, with hits like "Turbulence" and "Boneless".
His trademark: a frantic release rate, collaborations with just about everyone (from Linkin Park to BTS), and a festive show where he often ends up throwing a cream cake into the crowd.
He tours relentlessly and regularly features near the top of the DJ Mag ranking.
