DEFQON.1

The world's biggest hardstyle festival, at the Walibi Holland site in Biddinghuizen, Netherlands. A full weekend, several colour-coded stages, and one of the most tight-knit fan communities on the electronic circuit. Launched in 2003 by Q-dance. Next edition from 24 to 27 June 2027.

Defqon.1 2027

The Defqon.1 festival.
In a nutshell.

Defqon.1 was born in 2003, driven by Q-dance, and has since established itself as the biggest hardstyle festival in the world. The Walibi Holland site, in Biddinghuizen in Flevoland, transforms every year into a huge campsite where the “Defqon.1 family” comes together — a fan community known for its loyalty and atmosphere. The colour-coded stages (RED, BLUE, BLACK...) host hardstyle, rawstyle, hardcore and uptempo across the whole weekend.

What sets Defqon.1 apart is less the lineup than the communal experience: on-site camping, traditions unique to its audience (the heart salute that's become the movement's symbol) and a rare loyalty from one edition to the next.

The 2026 edition was cut short for the first time in its history after a “code red” heatwave alert (36–39°C forecast), an unprecedented episode for a major Dutch festival — the organisers refunded the affected tickets.
