The UK's big electronic festival, at the Daresbury Estate in Cheshire, on the late-August bank holiday weekend. Four days, ~70,000 festival-goers a day, massive camping and the world's biggest house and techno names. Launched in 1998. Next edition August 26 to 29, 2027, marking the festival's 30th anniversary.
Creamfields was born in 1998 in Winchester, before moving to Liverpool and then settling on the Daresbury Estate in Cheshire, in northwest England. From a one-day format (25,000 people) the festival has grown into a four-day event with camping, ~70,000 festival-goers a day, over the UK's late-August bank holiday weekend. It's now one of the biggest electronic festivals in the world, with a lineup bringing together the most in-demand house and techno headliners on the planet.
The late-August bank holiday weekend is traditionally one of the biggest of the year for the British electronic scene, and Creamfields has become its symbol. The festival cultivates a very “open-air club” identity: several themed arenas, a non-stop lineup from Thursday to Sunday.
The site is in rural Cheshire, with large on-site camping that's an integral part of the experience — most festival-goers live on site for the four days. In late August in northwest England, the weather stays unpredictable: come prepared for rain as much as sun.
