One of Belgium's biggest festivals, July 7 to 11, 2027 in Dour, a few kilometres from the French border: five days and nine stages, from electronic to hip-hop, rock to reggae, with camping that's almost a city of its own.
Dour takes place every summer in the village of the same name, in Hainaut, a few kilometres from the French border. Born in 1989 with 2,000 people, the festival now brings together around 55,000 people a day over five days and nine stages, with more than 280 artists. The 2027 edition is announced for July 7 to 11; the lineup isn't known yet.
It's a very eclectic festival: electronic, drum and bass, hip-hop, rock, punk, metal, reggae and pop all coexist, with a genuine alternative identity. The main stage, the Last Arena, sits alongside smaller stages (Dance Hall, La Caverne, Dub Corner, Le Labo…), and the music runs from noon to five in the morning. The festival won the award for best medium-sized festival at the European Festival Awards in 2010.
Camping is a world of its own: standard camping, but also themed campsites (pools, western, wellness…) and unusual accommodation, from tipis to chalets. The site is right by France, and part of the crowd comes from Lille and Paris. Bring good shoes, a raincoat and energy for five days.
