An independent Marseille festival blending rap, bass and electronic, set up every year in Parc Borély, a stone's throw from the Mediterranean.
Marsatac has established itself as southern France's rap and electronic event, in the green setting of Parc Borély. The Marseille festival stands out for its community commitment — accessibility, fighting gender-based violence — as much as for its headliners.
Born in the late 1990s, Marsatac grew alongside Marseille's rap and electronic scene to become one of southern France's big independent events. The festival takes place at Parc Borély, between lawns and ponds, a few minutes from the Vieux-Port.
The festival claims an “independent and responsible” identity: a Safer scheme against gender-based and sexual violence, solidarity rates for welfare recipients and jobseekers, and a lineup blending French rap, the local scene and electronic music.
