Switzerland's big hip-hop gathering, from 8 to 10 July 2027 on Frauenfeld's Grosse Allmend: three days, 105,000 admissions in 2026 and camping booked separately.
Openair Frauenfeld takes place every summer on the Grosse Allmend, a meadow on the edge of Frauenfeld in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. Founded in 1985 (according to Wikipedia), it is now a festival devoted entirely to hip-hop and rap, which drew 105,000 admissions over three days in 2026. The 2027 edition is announced for 8 to 10 July; only one name is known so far, Bonez MC & RAF Camora, with more promised.
The line-up mixes the big American rap headliners with the German, Swiss and French-language artists driving the European scene: Don Toliver, Gunna and Yeat in 2026, Travis Scott, Cardi B and Casper & Marteria at earlier editions, Kendrick Lamar in 2015. The crowd is young, largely German-speaking, and here for three intense evenings across several stages.
Practical side: the festival is almost "car-free" — free shuttles from Frauenfeld station, 20% off public transport with your ticket, fully cashless payment. Camping has no longer been included in the ticket since 2026: you book it separately, in classic, relaxed or comfort versions. And bring something to protect you from both the sun and the storm.

At 6am, a ten-minute journey can feel very long. Pick the right home base now, and the route that leaves you enough energy for the rest.
Flight, train, bus or carpooling: compare the options side by side with your real dates. The idea is to arrive with a bit of battery left — you included.
Bars, restaurants, spots worth a visit between two shows: enough to fill the gaps in the schedule without improvising on the spot at the last minute.
