Eastern Europe's biggest electronic festival, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in early August. Four days, ~500,000 festival-goers combined, spectacular stage design (giant dragon, light shows) and an international electronic lineup. Created in 2015. Next "Star Edition" August 5 to 8, 2027.
Untold was born in 2015 in Cluj-Napoca, the year the city was named European Youth Capital. From its very first edition, the festival was voted best major festival at the European Festival Awards — a rare recognition for a first attempt. Four days in early August, right downtown, ~500,000 festival-goers combined, a spectacular stage design reputed to be among the most impressive on the global electronic circuit (a giant fire-breathing dragon, synchronised light and laser shows), and a lineup bringing together the biggest names in international house and techno.
Untold has established itself as THE big electronic gathering in Eastern Europe, with a crowd from across the continent. The festival is also a strong tourism draw for Cluj-Napoca, Romania's second city, which invests every year in the site's stage design to make it a spectacle in its own right, not just a music lineup.
The site is right downtown, with no camping: you stay in Cluj-Napoca and reach the site on foot or by shuttle. In early August, Transylvania is hot and sunny by day, with cooler evenings.
