The Swedish band that made melodic death metal a matter of precise riffs and exceptional vocals.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Arch Enemy's world.
Arch Enemy fuses melodic death metal and guitar virtuosity, driven by guitarist Michael Amott.
Founded in 1995 by guitarist Michael Amott, formerly of Carcass, and singer Johan Liiva, the band was at first a Swedish melodic death metal outfit.
The arrival of German singer Angela Gossow in 2000 took it to another level, with "Wages of Sin" (2001). Alissa White-Gluz succeeded her in 2014 and sang on four albums, from "War Eternal" to "Blood Dynasty".
Alissa White-Gluz left the band in late 2025, and American singer Lauren Hart was announced as the new voice on 19 February 2026.
