In a nutshell.
Nova Rock takes place every June on the Pannonia Fields, in Nickelsdorf, in Burgenland, in the far east of Austria, just a few kilometres from the Hungarian border. Launched in 2005, it celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2026: four days and around 200,000 people in total, or 50,000 a day, on stages dedicated to rock, metal and punk. The 2027 edition is announced for June 10 to 12, with Die Ärzte, Motionless In White and The Butcher Sisters as the first names.
The lineup blends the big names of rock and metal: Green Day, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Rammstein and Muse are among past headliners. Two main stages, Blue and Red, alternate outdoors, plus side stages. For 2027, only a few names are known so far; the rest of the lineup arrives in waves.
Camping is part of the experience: it's included in the 3-day pass, with a quieter Green Camping area as an option. The site is a vast, shadeless plain: in June, bring a hat, sunscreen and something warm for the evening. On-site payment is via a rechargeable cashless chip.

Launched in 2005
Nova Rock celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2026, with around 200,000 people over four days. It was cancelled in 2020 and 2021, then resumed in 2022.

The Pannonia Fields are in Nickelsdorf, in Burgenland, on the Pannonian plain: a large flat site, with no relief and no shade.

Dates and schedule
Thursday June 10 to Saturday June 12, 2027. Camping and stage opening hours will be published in the festival app; the 2026 edition ran four days, June 11-14.
Tickets
3-day pass at €259.99 with camping, parking and waste management, “pick your day” ticket at €139.99 (no camping). Options: Green Camping (+€10 per person), Silent & Clean Caravan (€449), premium accommodation. Sold at oeticket.com.
Payment
The festival runs cashless: a rechargeable chip, topped up via the official app, is used to pay for everything on site. A €0.25 deposit is credited to the chip when returning a cup.
Access and transport
The festival is in Nickelsdorf (Pannonia Fields), right by the Hungarian border. Train, bus and shuttle information is given at reception and in the app. Glass, gas canisters, weapons, fireworks, animals, bikes and generators are banned; children under 8 aren't admitted.
Accessibility
Specific tickets are sold via oeticket. The site provides accessible parking and camping with adapted restrooms, and platforms in front of the BLUE and RED stages for the ticket-holder and a companion.
TransportNickelsdorf sits at the border between Austria, Hungary and Slovakia: Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest are the natural gateways.

- Vienna Airport (VIE), about 1h by road, the best served from France; Bratislava and Budapest are alternatives.
- By train
- Vienna and Budapest are linked to Nickelsdorf by regional lines; connections and shuttles are detailed at the festival's reception and in the app.
- By car
- The site is directly accessible by motorway from Vienna. Parking is included in the 3-day pass.
- From Paris
- Direct flight or with a stopover to Vienna (about 2h), then train or car (estimate).
