The Mississauga four-piece who made Canadian punk rock a genre of its own, from "Red Flag" to "Fallen Leaves".
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Billy Talent's world.
Billy Talent strings together nervy punk rock and shout-along choruses, from Toronto clubs to festival headline slots.
Formed in Mississauga, Ontario, in 1993 under the name Pezz, the band brought together Benjamin Kowalewicz (vocals), Ian D'Sa (guitar), Jonathan Gallant (bass) and Aaron Solowoniuk (drums). It became Billy Talent in 2001.
Its first album, "Billy Talent", went four-times platinum in Canada in 2003. The second, "Billy Talent II" (2006), produced "Red Flag" and "Fallen Leaves".
The band has sold around three million albums and won 7 Juno Awards, the biggest prizes in Canadian music.
