The Finnish masters of melodic death metal, back on stage to honour Alexi Laiho.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Children of Bodom's world.
Children of Bodom brought a fast, virtuosic and instantly recognisable melodic death metal.
Founded in 1993 near Espoo, Finland, around guitarist-singer Alexi Laiho, Children of Bodom became one of the country's most important metal bands with albums like Something Wild, Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper.
Their trademark: dizzying riffs, guitar and keyboard duels, and Alexi Laiho's screamed vocals, which made him one of the most respected guitarists on the scene.
The band split up in 2019, then Alexi Laiho died in December 2020. In 2025, the remaining members announced two tribute concerts, with Samy Elbanna of Lost Society on guitar and vocals.
A lasting reunion was announced in 2026, with dates to celebrate the band's legacy, including highly anticipated appearances at Bloodstock and Brutal Assault in August 2027.
