Bloodstock Open Air 2027

The Bloodstock Open Air festival.
In a nutshell.

Bloodstock Open Air takes place every summer at Catton Park, near Walton-on-Trent, in Derbyshire, England. Born in 2001 as an indoor festival in Derby, it has been open-air since 2005 and presents itself as the UK's biggest independent metal festival, with about 20,000 people. The 2027 edition is announced for 5 to 8 August; 45 bands are already confirmed, with Mercyful Fate, Electric Callboy and Motionless In White headlining.

Three headliners share the main stage: Mercyful Fate on Friday, Electric Callboy on Saturday, Motionless In White on Sunday. Around them, already announced: Children of Bodom, HammerFall, Hypocrisy, Corrosion of Conformity, Acid Bath, Green Lung or Dethklok on the Sophie Lancaster Stage, with about a hundred other names still to come according to the press.

It's a campers' festival: camping opens on Wednesday at noon, with quiet areas, livelier ones and an accessible one. UK prices are in pounds, payment is by cash or card, and you need to be ready for rain: Derbyshire in August is anything but dry.
