The Boston Celtic punks, bagpipes up front, between pub anthems and stadium choruses.
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Dropkick Murphys's world.
Dropkick Murphys makes Celtic punk a collective party: electric guitars, bagpipes and sing-along vocals.
Formed in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1996, the band was built around singer-bassist Ken Casey, the only member present since the beginning.
"I'm Shipping Up to Boston", on the album "The Warrior's Code" (2005), reached a much wider audience when Martin Scorsese used it in "The Departed" (2006): it is the band's only single certified platinum.
"The Meanest of Times" (2007) entered the Billboard 200 at number 20, and "Going Out in Style" (2011) climbed to number 6, the band's best position to date.
