The Little Rock band that turned gothic metal into a worldwide phenomenon with "Bring Me to Life".
Biography.
The journey and inspirations that shape Evanescence's world.
Evanescence established a gothic alternative metal where Amy Lee's voice and the piano carry immense choruses.
Founded in 1995 in Little Rock, Arkansas, by singer and pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody, the band made its name in the early 2000s.
Its first album, "Fallen" (2003), sold more than 17 million copies worldwide, carried by "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal". The band won two Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist in 2004.
Ben Moody left the band in October 2003. Amy Lee has since carried on the project, which remains a reference of mainstream gothic rock.
