Texas's big all-genre festival, at Zilker Park right in Austin — rock, indie, country, hip-hop and electronic on the same bill. One-of-a-kind quirk: the lineup repeats identically across two consecutive weekends. Launched in 2002. 25th edition in 2026 (Oct 2–4, then Oct 9–11), headlined by Charli XCX, Lorde, Twenty One Pilots, Skrillex and Kings of Leon.
Austin City Limits was launched in 2002, echoing the legendary TV show of the same name (produced by public broadcaster KLRU/PBS since 1974), which made Austin the self-proclaimed “Live Music Capital of the World.” The festival takes place at Zilker Park, a huge park right in the heart of the city, with an all-genre lineup known for its eclecticism — rock, indie, country, folk, hip-hop and electronic all share the bill with no genre hierarchy. A quirk found nowhere else: since 2013, the lineup has repeated identically across two consecutive weekends, letting twice as many festival-goers attend without putting extra strain on the park.
The “two weekends, same lineup” format was set up in agreement with the city of Austin, specifically to limit the impact of a single edition on Zilker Park — a compromise now copied by other events around the world.
Austin itself cultivates a strong musical identity year-round (the city calls itself the “Live Music Capital of the World”), which sets ACL apart from festivals built on an isolated site with no local music scene.

The New York duo who took pop-EDM from viral buzz to the top of the world.

An Ohio duo mixing rap, rock, reggae and pop in a narrative universe of their own.

The pioneer who made dubstep explode in the United States, between Grammys and a punk-hardcore return.
Capacity, atmosphere, crowd, hours and on-site budget: the full profile of Austin City Limits 2026 before you get your tickets.
Austin City Limits (the festival) takes its name from the PBS/KLRU music show on air since 1974, which built the city's musical reputation.
Since 2013, the lineup has repeated identically across two consecutive weekends — a compromise with the city of Austin to protect Zilker Park.
25th edition in 2026, with Twenty One Pilots and The xx headlining both weekends — ACL is known for its deliberate eclecticism, far from single-genre festivals.
The city itself claims this title, backed by a club and venue scene that's alive year-round, not just during the festival.
Dates, hours, transport and lodging: what you need to know before you go.
Two consecutive three-day weekends in early October (Oct 2–4, then Oct 9–11, 2026), with exactly the same lineup both weeks.
On aclfestival.com, in tiers: 3-day GA pass at $390 (waitlist at the last check), GA+ at $775, VIP at $1,760, Platinum at $5,710; 1-day GA ticket at $170. A ticket gives access to ONE of the two weekends only — check the date carefully when buying. 2026 edition prices; nothing published for 2027.
Cashless via RFID wristband on site, rechargeable online before arrival.
Shuttles and rideshares recommended from downtown Austin — Zilker Park is less than 15 minutes from downtown, but traffic is heavy on festival days.
