The Southwest's big all-genre festival, in Marmande, in late June. Three days, a plain on the banks of the Garonne, extensive camping, and a lineup spanning rap to electronic by way of pop and rock. Attendance record in 2025 (~56,000 people). Next edition from 25 to 27 June 2027.
Garorock was born in 1997 in Marmande's former slaughterhouses, as a small rock festival. Over almost thirty years, it has become one of the biggest events of the French summer: four days on the Plaine de la Filhole, on the banks of the Garonne, camping that hosts tens of thousands of festival-goers, and an attendance record set in 2025 with around 56,000 people. The lineup has grown along with it — more “Garo” than “rock” these days, blending rap and electronic headliners, international pop and new discoveries.
It's a destination festival: Marmande is a small town, most of the crowd comes from elsewhere and camps on site. The classic formula — multi-day pass, adjoining camping, shuttles from the station — with the extra heat of the Southwest thrown in. Late June in Lot-et-Garonne, it's hot, sometimes very hot (the 2026 edition had to cancel its warm-up evening over a heatwave): shade, water and sunscreen aren't optional.
Plaine de la Filhole is a large flat riverside plot, several stages, a site you can cross on foot. The vibe is young and festive, geared much more toward camping and festival life than exploring the area — though Bordeaux, the vineyards and the ocean aren't far for anyone extending their stay.

Capacity, atmosphere, crowd, hours and on-site budget: the full profile of Garorock 2027 before you get your tickets.
Created in 1997 as a small rock festival in the former slaughterhouses, Garorock has grown steadily: a move to the Plaine de la Filhole, a shift to late-June dates, building up to the 2025 record.
The lineup blends rap headliners (PLK, Gazo, Bigflo & Oli…), electronic (Major Lazer, Nico Moreno, Timmy Trumpet…), pop and rock. The name stuck, the content changed.
Most of the crowd comes from elsewhere and camps on site. Multi-day pass, adjoining camping, shuttles from the station: the classic destination formula.
A large flat site, several stages, crossed on foot. Little natural shade — the weak point when it hits 38°C.

Few extra costs if you camp. Budget for food on site and travel to Marmande (TGV + coach or shuttle).
