The most influential festival in the world, in mid-April 2027 in the California desert: two three-day weekends on the Indio polo grounds, six stages, monumental art installations and around 125,000 people a day.
Coachella 2027 takes place in mid-April on the polo grounds in Indio, in the Coachella Valley southeast of Los Angeles. Launched in 1999 by Goldenvoice, it runs across two identical three-day weekends: six stages, a lineup spanning pop to rap by way of electronic and rock, monumental art installations, and around 125,000 people a day.
Coachella has become the benchmark every other festival measures itself against: it's where the big comebacks, surprise collaborations and moments that go round the world in hours all happen. The Sahara stage is a temple of electronic music, the Outdoor Theatre and Mojave stages favour discovery, and the giant Ferris wheel serves as a landmark for the whole site.
The setting is part of the experience: palm trees, the San Jacinto mountains, desert light and the cold that drops suddenly at night. Many festival-goers camp on site — in a tent or a car — to experience both weekends as a trip; others stay in Palm Springs, twenty minutes away.

Launched in 1999, split into two weekends since 2012. Run by Goldenvoice (AEG group).
Up to 35°C possible by day, but the temperature drops sharply after sunset in the desert. Sunscreen and a warm layer.

Add camping (from $160 a car for the four nights), the transatlantic flight and a rental car: Coachella remains one of the most expensive festivals to attend from Europe.
