The world's biggest open-air festival, June 23 to 27, 2027 at Worthy Farm in Somerset: five days, more than 200,000 people, around a hundred stages and a highly anticipated comeback after the 2026 fallow year.

Glastonbury 2027

The Glastonbury festival.
In a nutshell.

Glastonbury 2027 takes place June 23 to 27 at Worthy Farm, the Eavis family farm in Pilton, Somerset. After a fallow year in 2026 — no festival, to let the fields regenerate — this is a particularly anticipated comeback edition. Launched in 1970, Glastonbury is the world's biggest open-air festival: more than 200,000 people, around a hundred stages from the Pyramid Stage to the alternative fields, and a fully camping site. Only the lineup remains to be announced, in early 2027.

Glastonbury isn't just a music festival: it's a pop-up city the size of a major town, with its own districts — the Pyramid Stage and the Other Stage for headliners, West Holts for world music and funk, The Park and the Green Fields for the alternative scene, Shangri-La and Block9 for electronic nights. You could spend five days there without seeing the same thing twice.

The ticket is as much earned as bought: mandatory registration weeks in advance, an online sale that's over in minutes, a deposit then the balance. Camping is included and part of the experience — you pitch your tent Wednesday and don't leave until the end. June's English weather does the rest: glorious sunshine or legendary mud, sometimes both.

Glastonbury 2027 practical info

Practical info.

Dates, hours, transport and lodging: what you need to know before you go.

Dates and hours

Wednesday June 23 to Sunday June 27, 2027. Gates open Wednesday morning; music on the main stages starts Friday and runs through Sunday evening.

Tickets

Full-weekend ticket at £408 (booking fee included, plus £11.25 postage per order), sold only on glastonbury.seetickets.com after registering with a photo (registration closed on 25 September). The general sale took place on Sunday 4 October 2026 at 9 am and tickets have already sold out; coach tickets sold out on 1 October. You pay a £100 deposit, then the £308 balance from 1 to 7 April 2027. A resale of cancelled or returned tickets is planned for spring 2027. No other channel is safe.

Payment

The site is gradually going cashless (bars, stands). Still bring a bit of cash. Plenty of free drinking water points.

Camping

Camping is included and not optional: everyone camps. General open-access zones, a few paid options (pre-pitched, campervan) to book separately. Arrive early Wednesday for a good spot.

Accessibility

Glastonbury has a well-regarded setup for disabled visitors (dedicated camping, platforms, internal shuttles), by application through the Accessibility team.

TransportThe site is in the Somerset countryside: train to Castle Cary, then a shuttle.
By train
From London Paddington, direct to Castle Cary (~1h45), then an official shuttle to the site. Extra trains are added during the festival.
From Europe
Flight or Eurostar to London, then train to Castle Cary. From Bristol (international airport), allow an hour by road.
Shuttles
The festival runs coaches from London, Bristol, Bath and other towns ('Glastonbury Festival Coach'), a bundled ticket with the pass possible — often the simplest way.
By car
Official car parks around the site (paid, to book), but getting in and out takes hours. Carpooling gives access to a dedicated car park.

AccommodationCamping is included and part of the festival; the alternative is staying nearby and driving in.
The campsite
Included in the ticket. General zones (arrive early), or more comfortable paid options (pre-pitched tents, campervan, 'boutique camping') to book separately and very far ahead.
Around the site
B&Bs and rentals in Somerset (Shepton Mallet, Wells, Glastonbury town): rare, expensive and snapped up, with the problem of jammed daily commutes.
Bath or Bristol
More hotel offering, an hour away by road — only viable with a car and by accepting the traffic.
Budget
If you camp, the bulk of the budget is the ticket and transport. Indoor accommodation around the site easily exceeds £200 a night during the festival.
See places to stay →
DestinationSouthwest England is worth a few extra days around the festival.
Next door
Glastonbury and its abbey, the Tor and its legends, Wells and its cathedral, the Cheddar Gorge — all less than thirty minutes away.
Further afield
Bath (Roman baths, Georgian architecture), Bristol (street art, harbour), and the Dorset coast to the south.
Usual weather
15 to 22°C in late June, very changeable: sun, showers and sometimes real rain. Nights drop to around 10°C.
