Festival de Trélazé 2027

The Festival de Trélazé festival.
In a nutshell.

Festival de Trélazé has taken place every summer since 1996 in Trélazé, in the Angers metro area — originally under the name “Festival estival de Trélazé,” renamed in 2019. Over about a month, around a dozen concert evenings follow one another at Parc du Vissoir, outdoors, with a handful of additional indoor dates at the Arena Loire. The festival's defining feature has never changed: entry is free and requires no booking, from the first evening to the last. 2027 marks the 31st edition; as every year, exact dates and the lineup are only announced in spring.

Run by the city of Trélazé, the festival relies on an all-genre lineup rather than a single style: recent editions have blended big names in French chanson (Julien Clerc, Laurent Voulzy, Benjamin Biolay, Bernard Lavilliers), international rock and pop, zouk (Kassav'), and a mainstream pop evening in the style of NRJ Music Tour. The principle stays constant year to year — a broad lineup, designed to reach every audience in the metro area, not just fans of one style.

Parc du Vissoir, a green open-air setting, hosts most of the evenings; a few more intimate concerts are held indoors at the Arena Loire, where Trélazé residents get a priority ticket quota. The festival's budget is funded jointly by the municipality and a club of local businesses — a setup that partly explains how it's stayed completely free for thirty years.

Festival de Trélazé in practice

Profile of the festival.

Capacity, atmosphere, crowd, hours and on-site budget: the full profile of Festival de Trélazé 2027 before you get your tickets.

Attendance

~180,000 festival-goers combined

A figure combined across all of an edition's evenings, not a per-night capacity — record of 255,700 in 2018, around 180,000 in recent years.

An all-genre lineup

Chanson, pop, rock, rap, zouk

No dominant genre: recent editions have brought together Julien Clerc, Laurent Voulzy and Benjamin Biolay alongside Kassav' and an NRJ Music Tour-style pop evening.

Two stages, two moods

Outdoors at Parc du Vissoir, indoors at Arena Loire

Most evenings play out outdoors in the park; a few more intimate concerts are held indoors at the Arena Loire, a few hundred metres away.

History

Since 1996, 31st edition in 2027

Launched as “Festival estival de Trélazé,” renamed “Festival de Trélazé” in 2019. Run by the City of Trélazé, funded by the municipality and a club of local businesses.

What to pack

Summer clothes, a cap and a light sweater

Outdoor evenings from late June to mid-July in Anjou: mild to warm days, it can get cool once the sun sets. Bring something to sit on (folding chairs allowed).

Budget

€0 entry, the rest is on you

No ticket to buy: the only budget to plan for is food on site (stands and food trucks, open prices) and getting to Trélazé.

Festival de Trélazé 2027 practical info

Practical info.

Dates, hours, transport and lodging: what you need to know before you go.

Dates and hours

About a month of concerts, usually late June to mid-July (2026: June 26–July 17). On concert evenings, gates open around 6pm, sets start around 9pm.

Free entry, no booking

Evenings at Parc du Vissoir are open access, no ticket or registration: just show up. The handful of concerts held indoors at the Arena Loire work differently, with limited capacity and a priority ticket quota for Trélazé residents, announced every year in June — best to check the process on trelaze.fr before heading out for those specific evenings.

Food on site

Local businesses and food trucks run stands during the evenings (sandwiches, pizza, drinks), some at a festival rate. Standard payment (cash, card): no dedicated cashless system like at big paid festivals.

Access, parking and transport

Main parking (P2, Rond-Point Alain Gentric) and overflow parking around the site. Irigo bus lines 1, 2 and 10 (Buisson / Arena Loire stops), with extra evening departures on busy days. Coolers, umbrellas and sharp objects are banned; a simple picnic and a folding chair are allowed.

Accessibility

Dedicated access for people with reduced mobility via Rue Bara, with reserved accessible parking and a raised platform on the Aragon hall side. Flag specific needs with the City in advance.

TransportTrélazé is part of the Angers metro area, a few minutes from downtown by tram and bus.
By train
Angers Saint-Laud station, served by direct TGV from Paris (1h30), TER from Nantes (35 min) and Rennes (1h15). From the station, allow 15-20 min by tram (line A) then bus to the Parc du Vissoir.
By plane
No direct air link to Angers for this destination. The closest airport with a real flight network is Nantes Atlantique, about 1h15 by road.
By car
Via the A11 then the Angers ring road. Main car park P2 at the Alain Gentric roundabout; overflow car parks around the site on concert evenings.
On site
Irigo bus lines 1, 2 and 10 from central Angers (Buisson / Arena Loire stops), with extra evening departures during the festival.

AccommodationNo camping: it's an evening-concert festival, not an enclosed site where people sleep on-site.
In Angers
Most of the conurbation's hotel offering, 10-15 min from the Parc du Vissoir by tram and bus. The simplest choice for combining several evenings.
In Trélazé
A smaller offering but closer to the site — handy for walking home after a late-ending concert.
Distance from the site
From central Angers, allow 20-25 min by tram + bus, or 15 min by car off-peak.
Budget
Angers remains affordable compared with the big cities: a decent hotel from around sixty euros a night in summer.

DestinationAngers, a city of art and history, and Trélazé's own slate-mining heritage.
Angers
Angers castle and its Apocalypse Tapestry (the largest medieval tapestry preserved in the world), the old town and Saint-Maurice cathedral, the banks of the Maine.
Trélazé
The town's history is that of slate: the Slate Museum and the old slate quarries tell three centuries of extraction, a stone's throw from the Parc du Vissoir.
Usual weather
Late June to mid-July in Anjou: 20 to 25°C by day, a fairly mild oceanic climate, showers possible — a light sweater for the evening does no harm.
