Arrive fresh in Montréal.
Flight, train, bus or carpooling: compare the options side by side with your real dates. The idea is to arrive with a bit of battery left — you included.

Ten days of jazz and music from elsewhere, from 25 June to 4 July 2027, in downtown Montréal: more than 350 concerts in 2026, over two-thirds of them free, on the Place des Festivals and in the halls of the Quartier des spectacles.
The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal takes over the Quartier des spectacles in the heart of downtown every summer: part of the streets are closed to host free open-air stages, indoor concerts and giant evenings on the Place des Festivals. Founded in 1980, it earned the Guinness record for the world's largest jazz festival in 2004. The 2027 edition, the 47th, runs from 25 June to 4 July; the line-up is not yet known.
Jazz is the common thread, but the bill goes well beyond: in 2026, more than 350 concerts brought together Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire, St. Vincent, Diana Krall, Max Richter and Patrick Watson, with a tribute to the 100th birthdays of Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Tony Bennett. More than two-thirds of the concerts are free: you move from an open-air stage to a hall without having to buy a ticket for everything.
It is a city festival: no camping, you sleep in Montréal and get around on foot or by metro between the stages. The mood is that of a big street party, with evenings on the Place des Festivals where tens of thousands of people gather for big free concerts.

A figure announced for years, so to be taken as an order of magnitude; the big outdoor evenings draw between 100,000 and 150,000 people according to Wikipedia.
Open-air concerts are free; indoor ones (Place des Arts, Monument-National, etc.) are ticketed, at prices that vary by show.
Late June to early July in Montréal it is around 25°C, with possible storms: a cap, a water bottle and something for rain (estimate).
Everything happens in the middle of the city: no camping or festival parking, but the metro (Place-des-Arts station) and walking are enough to get between stages.
Dates, hours, transport and lodging: what you need to know before you go.

In the heart of downtown: Place-des-Arts metro station on site, many buses, and walking between the Quartier des spectacles stages. The streets next to the stages are closed to traffic during the festival (Wikipedia).
The festival takes place in public space and in halls; the official site details its accommodations for people with reduced mobility (not readable by our tools): to be confirmed before coming.
