The South American edition of the Lollapalooza giant, at the Hipódromo de San Isidro, in the northern Buenos Aires metro area, in mid-March. Three days, up to 300,000 festival-goers combined, a very broad all-genre lineup. Launched in 2014. Next edition March 12 to 14, 2027, for a 12th edition.
Lollapalooza Argentina was born in 2014, a South American edition of the festival founded in Chicago in 1991 by Perry Farrell (Jane's Addiction). It takes place at the Hipódromo de San Isidro, a racecourse in the northern Buenos Aires metro area, in mid-March — as the southern-hemisphere summer draws to a close, an ideal time for an open-air festival. Three days, up to 300,000 festival-goers combined in big years, a lineup blending the biggest international stars (rock, pop, hip-hop, electronic) with the Latin American scene.
Argentine audiences have a reputation as some of the most passionate on the global festival circuit, often cited by international artists among their favourite touring crowds. Lollapalooza Argentina is part of the global Lollapalooza family (Chicago, Paris, Berlin, Brazil, Chile...), with several stages and a community village.
The site is north of Buenos Aires, served by train; most festival-goers stay in the capital and commute. Mid-March in the southern hemisphere is the end of summer: hot and sunny, with possible storms late in the day.
