The pop-rock festival on the shores of Lac du Bourget, in Aix-les-Bains, in mid-July. Four days at Esplanade du Lac, ~90,000 festival-goers, three stages facing the water and the Bauges mountains, a mainstream French and international lineup. Launched in 2002. Next edition July 8 to 11, 2027 (lineup announced October 22, 2026).
Musilac was born in 2002 in Aix-les-Bains. The setting does a lot for its reputation: Esplanade du Lac, on the shores of Lac du Bourget — France's biggest natural lake — with the Bauges mountains as a backdrop and sunsets over the water. Four days in mid-July, three stages (Lac, Montagne, Korner), ~90,000 festival-goers, a pop-rock lineup lining up international headliners (Gorillaz, Jamiroquai, Katy Perry…) and mainstream French names.
The atmosphere is family-friendly and relaxed, carried by the setting: an afternoon swim in the lake followed by evening concerts. The site is central, a few minutes from downtown Aix-les-Bains and its train station.
Mid-July in Savoie, it's generally hot and dry (25-30°C) but late-afternoon mountain storms aren't rare, and it can get cool by the water once night falls. Bring sunscreen, swimwear, and a warm layer for the evening.
