Europe's biggest reggae festival, on Benicàssim beach: several days of music, culture and beach life, with 169,000 people from nearly 100 countries at the 2026 edition.
Rototom Sunsplash takes place every summer on Benicàssim beach, on Spain's Costa del Azahar. It's now Europe's biggest reggae festival, blending concerts, culture, beach activities and community life over several days: the 2026 edition (the 31st) drew 169,000 people from nearly 100 countries. A return to Benicàssim is confirmed for August 2027, but no exact dates have been announced yet.
The festival revolves around several themed stages — the Sun Stage for the big reggae names, the Lion Stage, the DanceHall, the Dub Academy, the Jamkunda Stage for world music — and genuine beach life alongside: the Solé Rototom Beach, family areas, and a cultural programme (talks, workshops) that goes well beyond concerts alone.
The format runs six to eight days depending on the edition, making it a real stay rather than just a weekend. Camping and glamping are offered directly by the festival, alongside hotels and rentals in Benicàssim and the surrounding area.
