Sea Star Festival takes place every year in late May in Umag, on Croatia's Istrian coast, at the Stella Maris beach resort. Created in 2017 by the Exit Festival team, it blends rock, pop, electronic, house, hip-hop and metal across several seafront stages. Attendance has hovered around 44,000 people at recent editions. The 2027 edition has no official dates yet; it should run in late May, in line with previous editions.
The lineup mixes big electronic names (Boris Brejcha in 2026, for instance) with rock, pop or hip-hop, on a site that opens directly onto the Adriatic. The festival was recognised from its first edition with the European Festivals Awards and the Istrian tourist board's Capra d'Oro.
The atmosphere is that of a seaside festival: concerts and swimming alternate, with genuinely warm weather guaranteed in late May in Istria. Umag is a small seaside town, on the border with Italy and Slovenia, easy to combine with a tour of the region.
