Arrive fresh in Rennes.
Flight, train, bus or carpooling: compare the options side by side with your real dates. The idea is to arrive with a bit of battery left — you included.

France's big event for discovering new music, in Rennes in early December: a lineup entirely focused on emerging artists.
Since 1997, the Rencontres Trans Musicales de Rennes has made the opposite bet to big festivals: betting solely on still-little-known artists. The 48th edition takes place December 2 to 6, 2026, with nearly 74 artists gathered around the Ubu venue and the Théâtre L'Aire Libre.
The Trans Musicales revealed, ahead of everyone else, artists who have since become international benchmarks. The principle hasn't changed since 1979: a lineup made up almost entirely of names still unknown to the general public, chosen for their potential rather than their fame.
Every year the festival runs creative residencies at the Théâtre L'Aire Libre for some of the artists on the bill, a rare level of support at this scale. The 48th edition, December 2 to 6, 2026, brings together 74 artists across several Rennes venues.
