The Hauts-de-France region's big pop and rap festival, from 2 to 4 July 2027 in the UNESCO-listed citadel of Arras: three days, up to 42,000 people a day, forty minutes from Lille.
The 2027 Main Square Festival takes place from 2 to 4 July in the citadel of Arras, a Vauban fortress listed by UNESCO. Launched in 2004, it's the Hauts-de-France region's big pop and rap event: three days of concerts, a capacity of 42,000 people a day, international headliners, and an entirely urban site forty minutes from Lille and fifty minutes from Paris by train.
Main Square owes its name to the Grand'Place of Arras, where it was born in 2004 before moving to the citadel in 2010. The lineup, run by Live Nation, lines up huge international pop, rap and rock names every year, in a short, dense three-day format.
The festival's trump card is its city: Arras and its two Flemish baroque squares, its listed belfry, its bars and hotels just minutes on foot from the citadel. No camping — you sleep in the city or in Lille — and the festival closes early enough to leave room for a night out downtown.
