Scandinavia's big rock/metal festival, in Norje near Sölvesborg, in early June. Four days by the sea, ~100 bands across five stages, a crowd from more than 60 countries. Born in 1992. Next edition June 9 to 12, 2027.
Sweden Rock was born in 1992 in Olofström under the name Sommarfestivalen, before moving to Norje, near Sölvesborg, in 1998, and taking its current name the following year. It moved to a four-day format in 2007, and has become Scandinavia's big rock and metal gathering: ~100 bands across five stages by the Baltic Sea, a loyal crowd from more than 60 countries, in the warm, relaxed atmosphere typical of major Nordic festivals.
The festival covers the full spectrum of rock and metal — classic hard rock, heavy, thrash, southern rock — with a lineup that blends genre legends and discoveries. The atmosphere is known for being especially welcoming, with big lawns to relax on between concerts.
The site is by the sea, in southern Sweden: very developed on-site camping, with a good share of festival-goers living there for the full four days. In early June in Scandinavia, days are long (the sun sets very late) and temperatures stay moderate, around 18-20°C.
