Arrive fresh in Bilbao.
Flight, train, bus or carpooling: compare the options side by side with your real dates. The idea is to arrive with a bit of battery left — you included.

The Basque Country's big rock/pop/indie festival, perched on Mount Kobetamendi with panoramic views over Bilbao. Three days in mid-July, 120,000+ festival-goers, on-site camping. Launched in 2006. Next edition July 8 to 10, 2027.
Bilbao BBK Live was launched in 2006 under the name Bilbao Live Festival, before taking the name of its title sponsor, Basque savings bank BBK (Bilbao Bizkaia Kutxa), in 2007. From the start it has been held on a site built specifically on the slopes of Mount Kobetamendi, southwest of Bilbao — a setting that has become the festival's signature: you take in the stages from a height, with the city and its hills as a backdrop. Three days in mid-July, 120,000+ festival-goers, a rock/pop/indie/electronic lineup that has hosted Guns N'Roses, Radiohead, The Strokes, Depeche Mode and Gorillaz over the years. Unlike most big Spanish city festivals, on-site camping is available, at Mount Arraiz, three kilometres from the site.
What sets Bilbao BBK Live apart is its location: the stages sit on a hillside, and between sets your eyes land on Bilbao below and the surrounding hills. Few European festivals offer such a view during the concerts themselves. The lineup blends big international headliners with the Spanish and Basque scene, without sticking to a single genre — rock, pop, indie and electronic share the three main stages.
Two ways to experience the festival: stay in Bilbao and reach the site by free shuttle (running round the clock during the festival, from San Mamés or BEC in Barakaldo), or camp on site at Mount Arraiz, three kilometres away, also connected by free shuttles. The Basque climate stays cooler and more changeable than the rest of Spain in summer — a light waterproof jacket is never a bad idea, even in mid-July.
