One of Europe's most eclectic festivals, in a former steelworks complex turned venue: four days of music, theatre and talks, July 21 to 24, 2027.
Colours of Ostrava takes place every summer at Dolní oblast Vítkovice, a former industrial-era steelworks complex converted into a spectacular cultural venue. Born in 2002, the festival has established itself as one of the most eclectic in Europe: music, theatre, literature and talks all cross paths on its stages, inside repurposed blast furnaces and industrial halls. The 2027 edition runs from July 21 to 24.
The festival's industrial setting — blast furnaces, a gasometer, steelworks halls — is an integral part of its identity, a stage design unique in Europe that sets Colours of Ostrava apart from classic open-field festivals.
The lineup goes well beyond music: talks, theatre, literature and public debates are added to the concerts, in a deliberately eclectic spirit that has let the festival attract headliners as varied as Moby, Lorde or Twenty One Pilots.
