The indie festival on the edge of a lake, under big circus tents, at Ewijk near Nijmegen: three days from July 2 to 4, 2027, around 42,000 festival-goers and on-site camping.
Down The Rabbit Hole takes place every early summer at the De Groene Heuvels estate in Ewijk, near Nijmegen, in the Netherlands. Created in 2014 by Mojo Concerts, the promoter behind Lowlands, this indie, pop and electronic festival has settled on the edge of a lake, with big stages under circus tents and on-site camping. It drew 47,000 people in 2024, 50,000 in 2025 and 42,000 in 2026. The 2027 edition is announced for July 2 to 4; the lineup isn't known yet.
The lineup mixes international headliners from indie, rock and electronic music with sharper discoveries: Damon Albarn, The Black Keys and Foals opened the festival's history in 2014, followed by Queens of the Stone Age, Nick Cave, Disclosure, Gorillaz, LCD Soundsystem and The National. The identity comes as much from the setting — a lake where you can swim between concerts — as from the lineup.
It's a full-weekend festival: you camp on site, in a regular tent, group camping, camper van or a pre-pitched stay (Rabbit Resort). The Dutch summer stays unpredictable, but the main stages are under tents. The estate is about ten kilometres from Nijmegen, which makes it easy to extend the stay in town.
