Shaky Knees 2027

The Shaky Knees festival.
In a nutshell.

Shaky Knees takes place every mid-September at Piedmont Park, Atlanta's big central park. Born in 2013, the festival has established itself as one of the big American indie-rock gatherings, with a deliberate identity: music only, no ferris wheel or other side attraction. Around 40,000 people a day, over three days. 2027 dates haven't been announced yet.

Shaky Knees built its reputation on a tight rock and indie lineup, mixing legends (the festival has hosted headliners like The Strokes and LCD Soundsystem) with sharper discoveries.

The festival moved venues several times in Atlanta as it grew, before settling at Piedmont Park since 2025 — a big urban park right in the city centre, with no camping: the crowd stays in the city.
